Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01 — Fly to Olgii & Drive to Altai Tavan Bogd Region

Make your own arrangements to reach Ulaanbaatar Airport. Your domestic flight to Olgii is included. Fly from Ulaanbaatar to Olgii. You will be welcomed by the Bek Travel team. Meet your English-speaking guide, driver, and cook. They will accompany you for the next 7 days. After breakfast in town, drive toward Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Visit a Tuvan nomadic family home and settle into a traditional wooden house, staying in a private room.

Day 02 — Horse Trek to Shiveet Khairkhan (Sacred Mountain)

After breakfast, begin a winter horse trek toward Shiveet Khairkhan, the sacred mountain of the Tuvan shamanic tribe. This region is home to Mongolia’s five highest peaks. Due to deep winter snow, the ride will not go all the way to the peaks, but you will explore the sacred mountain area instead. You may spot wild ibex on the rocky slopes. Visit Bronze Age rock art, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site often described as an open gallery under the blue skies.

Day 03 — Drive to Bor Burgas Valley & Stay with a Kazakh Nomadic Family

After breakfast, drive to Bor Burgas Valley, the winter home of roaming wild deer herds. Arrive at a Kazakh nomadic family home and settle into a traditional wooden house.


Enjoy a traditional “five fingers” feast, listen to local songs, and experience music played on traditional Kazakh instruments. Overnight with the family.

Day 04 — See Wild Deer & Move to Eagle Hunter’s Family (Yurt Stay)

This morning, observe wild deer in the surrounding valleys. Afterwards, drive to Altai village to meet your eagle hunter’s family. The journey takes around 4 hours, passing through dramatic winter landscapes. On arrival, a traditional Kazakh yurt will be set up for you. You'll experience an authentic winter nomadic experience. Spend the night in your private yurt.

Day 05 — Begin Real Eagle Hunting on Horseback

Ride horses into the nearby mountains to begin your eagle-hunting adventure. Depending on conditions and luck, you may witness an eagle pursuing fox, rabbit, or even Pallas’s cat. In the evening, visit neighboring eagle hunter families and learn how they feed and care for their eagles during the winter hunting season. Overnight in your private yurt.

Day 06 — Half-day Eagle Hunting, Horse Sledding & Drive to Khar Lake

Spend the morning continuing eagle hunting on horseback. Ride through the quiet winter landscape. In the afternoon, drive to Khar Lake. Experience horse sledding on the frozen lake, one of the region’s classic winter activities. Stay overnight with a nomadic family near the lake.


Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.


Day 07 — Ice Fishing on Khar Lake & Drive Back to Olgii

This morning, try ice fishing on the frozen lake. Enjoy time in the quiet winter setting. In the afternoon, drive back to Olgii. On arrival, check in to Bek’s Hotel. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with Mongolian throat singing and a Kazakh musical performance.

Day 08 — Fly Back to Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, transfer to the Olgii airport. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. End of the trip.
